1967

Jed Johnson arrives in New York City, where he meets Andy Warhol and begins working with him at the famed Factory.

1974

Jed begins decorating Andy’s newly acquired Federal townhouse on Sixty-Sixth Street.

1978

Jed’s design firm is officially launched with the commission for the residence of Pierre Bergé and Yves Saint Laurent.

1996

Jed passes away in the tragic TWA 800 plane crash on July 17. He is posthumously inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame.

Late 1996

Alongside Jed’s twin brother, Jay Johnson, Arthur Dunnam helms the company and honors Jed’s legacy. Over the next several years, Arthur retains many loyal clients and maintains the caliber of design for which Jed Johnson was known.

The first edition of Jed Johnson: Opulent Restraint is published.

2017

Jay Johnson retires, and Arthur Dunnam for Jed Johnson is founded.

2022

The Andy Warhol Diaries airs on Netflix, inspiring a new generation’s interest in Jed’s work.

2024

The firm evolves to Dunnam Zerbini Design to recognize named partners, Arthur Dunnam and Kelly Zerbini.
